Hard Hat
- Description
- Metal hard hat with full brim and no interior padding or suspension. The hard hat is an older design with faded American flag stickers on the front and back. On the underside of the brim is handwritten: "Construction Hat worn by Christian Wolf when working on building Twin Towers | LOCAL 580, Christian Wolf - worker on twin towers."
- Historical Notes
- Christian Wolf (January 15, 1915–November 9, 1984) worked on the construction of the Twin Towers as a member of Local 580 Ornamental Ironworkers, a union affiliated with the International Association of Bridge, Structural, Ornamental, and Reinforcing Iron Workers. Construction of the Twin Towers was Wolf's final job before his retirement. He saved this hard hat as a memento of that culminating project.
