- ASSIST, the American Society for the Support of Injured Survivors of Terrorism, was founded by Worley (Lee) and Joyce Reed, retired employees of the State Department’s U.S. Diplomatic Security Service and survivors of the August 7, 1998 bombing of the U.S. embassy in Nairobi, Kenya.
