- Description
- Memorial patch created in memory of Francis Esposito. The patch has the Twin Towers in the center, draped in an American flag, with embroidered text at the top: "In Loving Memory of | FRANKIE ESPOSITO | 5-5-5-5." At the base of the towers is a fire helmet with the number "79" on the front piece. At the bottom is an embroidered yellow banner with text: "9-11-01." Below the banner is text: "F.D.N.Y."
- Historical Notes
- Staten Island native Francis Esposito lived in Tottenville with his wife, Dawn. In 1999, he achieved three of his longtime dreams. In the same month, he got married, bought a Harley-Davidson motorcycle, and became an FDNY firefighter. On September 11, Firefighter Esposito responded to the World Trade Center with his unit, Engine Company 235. He was 32 years old.
