Prayer Card
- Description
- Prayer card created in memory of Scott M. Kopytko and left at the 9/11 Memorial. The front of the card features a photograph of Kopytko in his formal dress uniform. The back of the card includes printed text: "In loving memory of | Scott M. Kopytko | Firefighter - Ladder Company 15 | December 2, 1968 - September 11, 2001" and the Fireman's Prayer.
- Historical Notes
- Scott Kopytko was born in Flushing, Queens, and lived in nearby Oakland Gardens. Scott divided his career between finance and firefighting. Once a commodities trader, he joined the FDNY in 1998. When not on duty with Ladder Company 15, he was pursuing a master’s degree in finance and had one semester to go. On September 11, Firefighter Kopytko responded with his unit to the towers. He was 32 years old.

This prayer card was left on the S-21 parapet of the South Pool on the 9/11 Memorial for Scott M. Kopytko on September 11, 2015.
