- Born in San Francisco, California, Michael Tinley lived in Dallas, Texas, where he was a vice president at Marsh & McLennan. Michael often traveled for work and had spent Labor Day weekend 2001 in Manhattan with his two grown daughters, enjoying the city’s theater, shopping, and restaurants. On September 11, Michael was attending a meeting at Marsh on the North Tower’s 100th floor. He was 56 years old.
