- Memorial poster created in memory of David Gustaf Peter Tengelin. The poster features a large photograph of Tengelin with lower Manhattan and the Twin Towers in the background. Handwritten text on the poster reads: "David Tengelin "Swede," 25 WTC #1 100th floor | A beloved son and brother. We love you and miss you so much." In the lower right corner is a sticker with the Swedish flag.

- Born in Göteborg, Sweden, David Tengelin came to the United States to attend college in Arizona. After graduating in 1999, he moved to New York City and settled in Manhattan. David enjoyed watching movies and plays in the city’s parks and playing soccer in a local league. On September 11, he was at work on the North Tower’s 100th floor at Marsh & McLennan, where he was an accountant. David was 25 years old.
Curator's Comment
David Tengelin wrote that the first time he saw New York City, “it was love at first sight.” He came from Sweden to the United States for college in the mid-1990s and later landed an accounting job at the World Trade Center. In September 2001, David visited his family back in Sweden. After suit shopping with his mother, David hugged his family goodbye at the airport on September 9. On September 11, he went to work wearing his new suit. His family left this poster highlighting David’s Swedish roots on a viewing platform near Ground Zero.
