Gloves
Description
Ironclad brand pair of black fabric work gloves with leather reinforced palms. The Ironclad logo, which appears across the knuckles, is made of thermoplastic rubber to protect the knuckles from impact and abrasion. The gloves are slightly dirty.
Historical Notes
NYPD Officer Robert Schnelle and his canine partner Atlas, a German shepherd, deployed to lower Manhattan on the morning of September 11, 2001. Together, the two searched 7 World Trade Center before its collapse and continued to work at Ground Zero until the recovery concluded in May 2002.

Schnelle wore these gloves at the site.
