- Award for Acts of Valor bestowed on James A. Romito following the 1993 World Trade Center bombing. A silver medallion is encased in clear plastic. "James A. Romito" is engraved above the medallion, which depicts the trident facade of the Twin Towers on the front. It's back is engraved with text: "World Trade Center | Award for Acts of Valor | The Port Authority of New York & New Jersey | 1993."

- Bronx-born James Romito lived in Washington Township, New Jersey. He had two grown children. A PAPD chief, James oversaw PAPD emergency operations and had created a housing and medical program for the homeless at the Port Authority Bus Terminal. On September 11, Chief Romito reported to the North Tower’s 27th floor to lead rescue operations. He was 51 years old.
