- Description
- Memorial plaque created in memory of Daniel Edward Harlin. The plaque is a wood Maltese cross with Harlin's photograph in the center. "FDNY | LADDER 2" is printed in gold-colored text in the top crossbar, and "FIREFIGHTER | DAN HARLIN" is printed in the bottom crossbar. The image of a hook and ladder is in the left crossbar, and a fire hydrant is depicted in the right crossbar.
- Historical Notes
- Flushing, Queens, native Daniel Harlin lived in Kent, New York, with his wife, Debbie, and their three children. An expert bow and arrow hunter, he hosted friends and family at his Catskills cabin during hunting season. In FDNY Ladder Company 2, he was known for assigning nicknames. His own was Tough Guy. On September 11, Firefighter Harlin and his unit responded to the towers. He was 41 years old.
