- Friends said Lindsay Herkness was not just a resident of New York City but a connoisseur of it. A New York native, he threw lavish parties in his Upper East Side apartment and frequently toured the city with his dog. He also mailed witty Christmas cards from around the world. On September 11, Lindsay, a senior vice president at Morgan Stanley, was at work on the South Tower’s 73rd floor. He was 58 years old.
