- Fort Clayton, Panama, native Pamela Gaff lived in Robbinsville, New Jersey, with her husband, Kevin. She worked as a vice president at Aon Corporation, where coworkers admired her determination. In her office, she hung four pictures of the city of Paris, saying that those pictures went wherever she did. On September 11, she was at work on the South Tower’s 102nd floor. She was 51 years old.
Curator's Comment
Pamela Gaff (née Damush) was born on the Fort Clayton U.S. Army base at the Pacific Ocean end of the Panama Canal. She and her family moved four times for her father’s military job. Pamela attended high school and college in New Jersey before settling in Robbinsville, New Jersey, with her husband, Kevin. She celebrated her 51st birthday there on September 10, 2001. This flag and associated name tag are believed to have originated from a local presentation of the national Healing Field project, in which communities host outdoor displays of 2,977 individual flags dedicated to 9/11 victims.
